The Casita is well appointed, equipped and comfortsble
Excellent location, perfect accomodations!
If you want a casita 2 blocks from the Plaza and with all the charm of Santa Fe, this is the place to stay. Very convenient, very private, and very comfortable. However, if you want to do laundry, you better ask BEFORE you book here...the in-unit washer didn't work and we weren't told ahead of our stay. Also, there were a couple light bulbs not bring your own. I tried to call the property manager, Gordy, upon arrival but no answer and his mailbox was full and wouldn't accept messages. All in all, the place was beautiful and we would definitely stay here again if it is available.
I could write a book on how much we enjoyed our stay...but will just say that on our next trip we are using them again
We had a great time - the location was perfect - within walking distance to the plaza and other areas of interest. Our dogs also had a great time. The casita was perfect - thanks again for accepting pets - it was perfect!
Everything was wonderful and I loved the comfort and asthetic of our spot. The bed was unbelievably comfortable.
We loved the little Casita it was charming and had all the modern conveniences we needed to feel at home.Yet a lot of character to make our stay feel exotic. We would stay longer next time. The kitchen was perfect and super useful. Thanks again for a lovely stay. Celeste (Canada)
The casita was clean and the washer and dryer came in very handy. We learned by experience how great adobe is, cool in day and warm at night. The casita is very nicely furnished, the bed very comfortable! There is a restaurant almost around the corner, Dinner for 2, that I would recommend to any one staying at the casita! We will definitely recommend our find to friends, as well as put Nomad in my "favorites."Thank you for a relaxing and comfortable week!
Loved the place, loved the stay. VERY SATISFIED and would come back for sure. We stayed across from Patron I+II where are party was so that was perfect. All 3 casitas worked well together. Location great for walking to the plaza which we did several times.
What a jewel of a place to stay in Santa Fe. Cozy, comfortable, and exceptionally decorated, for a rental property. We were within walking distance of the Plaza, and within walking distance of the Sandia Shuttle Stop,if you don't have a ton of luggage. The beds were comfortable, the linens and towels were good quality and the bathrobes were yummy. With three women staying we enjoyed the large mirrors and available plug ins throughout since there is only one bathroom. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening drinks on the private patio. We did not use the hot tub, though there is easy access to it. I will definately stay here again and would recommend it to my friends.
My daughter and I enjoyed our casita very much during our 8-day stay, especially the back yard which was private and nicely fitted out with a barbeque and hot tub with two fireplaces and lots of firewood. Nicely done and landscaped. Also, only a few minutes from the plaza. I'd do it again.
I would add a few more items to the kitchen. Maybe keep it stocked with sugar, a few more utensils, etc.
We enjoyed our stay at Casita Montoya. The property is in a good location to downtown. The property itself could use a little attention to detail on cleaning and upkeep. The landscaping is pretty with tons of lush vegetation and flowers. This was a minor inconvenience as the front door was shrouded in Russian Sage - which attracts Bees - I am allergic to Bees - and had to rush entering the front door - which is not quite so easy with a numbered keypad lock on the front door. The outside patio was quite dirty, and hadn't been swept in such a while that I took the broom from the hot tub area to sweep it up myself. All in all it was a nice property and we were grateful to get it on short notice, the price was nice, and the location was excellent.
Positives: Wonderful bed, perfect and comfortable size casita, used the hot tub several times and always had it to ourselves. Negatives: Bathroom was a bit small, and TV too tiny. Immediate neighborhood a little run down, but loved being so close to everything. Would definitely stay there again.
Great location, amenities were fine. My only complaint is regarding the cleanliness--there was a musty, moldy smell in the bathroom.
The Casita Montoya was a pleasant surprise in many ways: lovely decor, very comfortable bed, plenty of luxurious towels, easy walk to shopping and the plaza. One complaint: The lighting in the bedroom was very dim. That's okay at bedtime, but not during the day when you're dressing, etc. At our request, new lightbulbs were delivered, but they didn't improve the problem, since the light fixture itself is designed to mute the light. The casita was very clean and comfortable, except for the outdoor seating area, which we did not used because of the dirty condition. The kitchen was pretty and functional -- excellent stove, coffee pot, microwave. Better quality pots and pans would really complete the kitchen, but overall it was very nice. I have to say that my husband and I enjoyed a good night's sleep each of the four nights we were there, the bed was so comfortable and there was never any noise from outside, which is surprising considering the crowded residential area we were in. We would definitely recommend the casita to friends.
We did enjoy our stay. The casita was in a perfect place for walking as well as enjoying quiet. The enclosed porch was lovely. We were a little disappointed that the hot tub seemed mildew-y. We thought there should have been a few more kitchen amenities, plastic wrap, pepper, general things you would find. We love to cook when we vacation.
Charming casita, nicely decorated. Quite neighborhood. We walked to the Plaza daily. Our only complaint would have been that the outdoor grill was dirty and didn't work. Other than that, it was a nice place. We would likely return again.
The layout took a little adjustment but after that we felt very comfortable. While I would recommend it these are the items that would be a concern. Do not think window AC would keep up in very hot weather. For any but warm days bath needs an exhaust fan. Would be very concerned about comfort in the winter - no weatherstripping on doors and there seemed to be quite a bit of air leakage. Would like differently arranged lighting in living - very harsh when trying to watch TV and read. But would come back.
More drinking glasses in the kitchen and you can hear the people next door.
only complaint was coi pond and hot tub should be cleaned at least bi-weekly. Other than that , great place.
I wanted to add a few comments about Montoya's condition: 1)the outside light switch above the key pad does not work, which makes coming home in the dark an unpleasant experience. Also, the bed is much too soft!
The place was immaculate and the furniture was all very luxurious. Walking distance to town & supplies. A few suggestions:-The hot tub was cold and the water looked green. It took several hours to heat up. Not much I could do about the color of the water except shower afterwards.-One of the other guests knocked over my motorcycle in the parking lot causing over $2000 in damage. Not Nomad's fault, but motorcyclists beware of the small parking area and loose gravel.-The instructions for the door lock you provided are wrong. Enter the code and turn LEFT to unlock, not right. -$70 cleaning fee for one night's stay doesn't add up. Wish I could have stayed longer but cleaning should be incorporated into the nightly rate. -Would have been nice to have some coffee grounds available in the kitchen to go with that nice coffee maker.
I've texted Carlos several times and no reply. Sure hoping a refund shows on my credit card. I think the outside of the complex needs attention.
The one negative experience this time was that the Internet did not work, which required that we go in to town to find WIFI so we could stay connected to the office. Aside from that inconvenience, this visit was great. It was our second time staying at this compound (we stayed at Casita Patron II last year) and we plan to return again. The neighborhood is surprisingly quiet and the casita is nicely appointed. It would be great to arrive and find ice in the ice maker...
Please repair the themostat. It never worked. Nice place and location
We have stayed at these casitas at least four times and have liked them (the walk to the plaza takes about 15 minutes) but during our most rcent stay in Casita Montoya we were bothered by noise from out neighbors. It was not their fault, --there is insufficient soundproofing between the units sharing tht particular building. Even the floor, which is common to both units, creaks when the neighbors walk across it.
I cancelled prior to any confirmation. My account was still debited and no one would respond. Very, very poor. They have still never contacted me back.
